Summary: Sephiroth thinks that he'll be able to sacrifice Purgatorium to Jenova, his Mother; however, Jenova has already abandoned him and his ideals. In forsaking him, Jenova has intentionally of her own will decreased his power and abilities. As he heads off to destroy Purgatorium as an offering to his Mother, he runs into Tifa Lockheart.

Sephiroth was slowly moving away from the beach, taking staunch steps toward the newly-fixed city. His eyes were intense, but the misty drizzles brought a slight chill to his body--it wasn't like he paid that any mind as it wasn't an entirely new feeling or sensation to him. There was something different, too, but he didn't recognize it as weakness of sorts. No, he was just feeling different, and he wasn't particularly concerned for what that feeling was because of his overconfidence.
He walked on, his dark figure making its way from the desolate and pebbly beach onto firmer ground. It was a kinda of dusty soil that started to stick to his boots as he walked along.
He didn't realize that he was moving on his own, preparing to fight for a lost cause.
And his Mother -Jenova- was not going to lend him even an ounce of help whatsoever.
