Summary: Diva convinces Riku to meet her face to face, so he goes to the Lower Level. This was, in retrospect, a bad idea.
Riku knew he was taking a risk. As he saw the darkness of the Lower Level looming up at him, he nearly turned back. But Riku's father had taught him that people deserved second chances. Riku had never been wholly willing to give up on Diva despite her violent outbursts, didn't want to believe that in another time or place she had done to him all that Haji had said. Forcing him to-
He didn't want to think about it. That wasn't him, and that wasn't the Diva he knew. They would start over here, in Purgatorium, because wasn't this place founded on the ideal of second chances? That you could atone for your sins and go back to life in your own world?
Besides, they were just going to talk. Riku would be on his guard. Nothing would happen.
He walked slowly towards the clock tower, where they had designated to meet, tugging nervously at the large ribbon tied around his neck. He was going to be okay. He only hoped Saya or Charles or Makubex wouldn't get too mad at him for going out on his own. When he reached the base of the tower, there was no Diva in sight. Not quite knowing what to do with himself, Riku stood there, casting his eyes about in the darkness for any sign of her arrival.
One hour. He would give her one hour until he left for the Upper Level again, back before true nightfall.
