Someone was yelling at him. Bowser swivelled his head and saw a tiny kid standing on a trash can, yelling tiny little threats at him in his tiny little shorts. There was only one thing Bowser could do -- yell back. "HUH? WHAT WAS THAT? I CAN'T HEAR YOU, SHRIMP!"

If Bowser couldn't hear him, then obviously the best thing to do was to speak louder. "YOU HEARD ME," he yelled, "I'm going to make you pay for even thinking about trying to take over my Netherworld!"

That was the last warning, though. He was about five seconds away from just attacking Bowser and getting it over with.

The puffed up shrimp was actually managing to yell louder. "I'M NOT JUST GOING TO TRY TO TAKE IT OVER, I'M GOING TO DO IT!"
He lunged at Laharl and took a swipe at the kid. He was tiny, so Bowser couldn't imagine that he would pose much of a problem. On the other hand, Mario and Luigi were pretty tiny, too...

Laharl was ready for that. When Bowser took a swing at him, he jumped up into the air, well over Bowser's head. Then he came back down, aiming a kick at the over-sized turtle as he descended.
