He could have sworn that Lyle'd just gone in a few minutes ago--they'd come back from the church not all that long ago, and he himself had gone out to check some things in the backyard to brainstorm on how to make the walls a little sturdier. "Maybe you really should have taken that nap earlier," he said as he rolled his eyes and moved to take out his own keys, unlocking the door and letting the other Meister in before going in himself.

He let the door close behind him, placing down the bag of food off to the side for now as he stretched. "I had to get more potatoes thanks to you and your brother and your boxty obsession...and, well potato obsession in general," he said as he looked over at him, quirking a smile. "What would you do without me to cook for you? Burn down the kitchen again?"

Tamamo/Lyle scratched his head. "Yeah, probably. Both for the nap and the kitchen, I mean. Anyway, thanks." He glanced around; the living room was otherwise blessedly empty. It might be slightly awkward if the real Lyle walked in. "Speaking of ... where is my brother?"

"Upstairs," he answered as he took a seat on the nearby couch. "Dynames clawed a hole in a bag of flour, so he's trying to give her a bath now... I'll have to go up there soon with a first aid kit, I'm sure. I hope he cut her claws a little bit like he said he was meaning to."

Allelujah stretched again, getting more comfortable on the sofa. "How are you now, anyway? Thanks for coming out to the church with me, by the way. It was nice."

"Yeah, nice to get out of the house for a change. And ... nice to spend some time with you, actually." He glanced up at Allelujah, hoping to bring across a charming look of mildly embarrassed infatuation.

Tieria was sitting in the living room, reading a book. He sighed, and shook his head. It had been a long day... maybe he should think about going to bed soon.

... Was someone coming into the room? He looked over the top of his book to see who it was.

It was Lockon, of course. Neil Dylandy, the other brother. He paused, hand on the door frame, when he saw the purple-haired young man glance up from his book at him. "Oh, hey, Tieria. What's up?"

"There is not much going on. The administration office still needs to be organized... again... but other than that, the only things that seem to be going on are preparations for the 'bonfire' on Thursday.'"

Tieria relaxed slightly. Very slightly, but there was something about Lockon that seemed to put him at ease. Michel as well... not that he'd admit it to either man.

"Hm, since that giant turtle and that green-haired girl broke in and messed everything up." He shook his head. "You're always so literal. Next time, just say 'the ceiling.'"

The door to Michel's room was propped open, in the interest of improving airflow from the open window on the far wall.

Michel sat at his desk, the cool summer-night air caressing the back of his neck as he hunched over the disassembled parts of his rifle, diligently cleaning and oiling them.

Tamamo paused in the hall, checking for any possible observers, then shifted from Neil Dylandy to Toshiko's alluring human form. He leaned in the door, head tilted, half-smiling but mostly concerned.

"Hey ... Michel? You having trouble sleeping too?"

Michel looked up, instantly trading the comedic look of concentration he wore for his trademark smile.

"A little. But my rifle's also been long overdue for maintenance. How about you, just not tired or not feeling well, Toshiko?"

Tamamo shrugged. "A little of both. Can I come in?"

YOU KNEW THIS WAS COMING. :| icanhasafox June 9 2009, 08:01:14 UTC
Toshiko had wandered into the kitchen, and set up the table for dinner. Not that she expected everyone to eat together - second jobs and monster-hunting teams tended to turn any sort of meal schedule into a jumbled mess.

Thankfully, the kitchen was clear of anyone else at the moment, which was how she liked it. Her days as a nanny and a housekeeper weren't exactly things she liked to advertise - they gave her useful skills, but she didn't want to be thought of as someone who cleaned up other people's messes.

Still... someone had to make sure the place looked halfway decent. At least the kitchen was mostly straightened up now, ready for whoever wanted to cook dinner to do so. She sat down in a chair once she was done, pulling her knees up into her chest and resting her head on them.

Oh dear. Toshiko was in the kitchen. Tamamo considered what disguise he should wear; well, it wouldn't really matter. She would probably recognize him anyway; like recognized like, after all, even if she was only half a kitsune. He chose Michel's form -- the young man seemed to have a thing for her -- and quietly entered the kitchen.

"Hey, Toshiko."

Toshiko lifted her head to look at whoever had come into the kitchen. She smiled briefly. "Hey, M -" Then she stopped, frowned, and then laughed.

"... Cute, Tamamo. Very cute." Even if she couldn't pinpoint things very precisely, she could still tell that this didn't feel like Michel. Michel was (mostly) a normal human, and the flicker of power she could feel was most definitely not human.
