Matthew had to deal with a lot of new things today. For one, he felt what it was like to be mortal for the first time. As a country, his condition had been dependent on his people: he was tired when they were tired, he was hurt when they were hurt, and he was hungry when they were hungry. But those feelings always faded even if he hadn't done anything, since his people would sleep, see doctors, and eat on their own. But now he felt those feelings for himself: he had been hungry for the last five hours, and the hunger wasn't fading like it normally did. Furthermore he wasn't 'aware' of his people like he normally was. It was like he had been cut off from everything that made him who he was, and it was really unsettling.
But even if he was a normal human for the time being, he still wanted to do things like he normally did. He wanted to keep at least some semblance of the normal, even if this was a new place and he had no connection to the other countries. And For Matthew, that meant finding the boss of this place and doing what he or she said.
They had different names all over the world: president, prime minister, king, emperor. But they all had the same privilege: they were one of the very few people who knew the truth about the countries. Matthew had studied the network for a while, and it sounded like the Gods weren't really the type of ruler he was looking for. The closest he had found was Citrine, the head of White Fang, so he was going to go to her headquarters and introduce himself. Of course, to everyone else he would just be Matthew Williams, the new recruit to White Fang, but it was important for that one person to know. That's how everyone had done it since the beginning of time, and that's how they would continue to do it.
When Matthew arrived at the building he found his way to Citrine's office, though it was more difficult to do since he didn't have his "finding the leader" radar that he normally did. When he arrived at Citrine's office he knocked on the door and waited patiently for her to answer. He just hoped that he wasn't interrupting anything, or that he hadn't looked suspicious by wandering around the building looking for her office.
