Lyle really didn't know why he'd agreed to this when he made his way to the forest. Pride? Simple stupidity? Maybe it was both, he honestly didn't know. At least things had settled down and he could feel a little more at home in this place again, now that things didn't seem so surreal and disjointed anymore. He remembered people now, believing that they were real rather than just another dream his mind was showing him out of his own guilty conscience. On the other hand, he really wouldn't mind if it turned out to be a dream after all. The thought of getting beat up by Hallelujah already made him ache; if it were a dream, at least he wouldn't really feel it.

"Sorry to keep you waiting," he called out when he reached the area they had decided on, seeing Hallelujah leaning against a tree and tensing just a little bit. He wasn't scared, really. Just wary. Even if he'd gone through a lot in the past six months--hand to hand combat had never been his forte and that wasn't going to change. He was a sniper for a reason.

"I ought to punish you for being late," Hallelujah said with a chuckle as he pushed himself off of the tree, "but...well. We'll see whether you'll deserve that punishment or not."

He looked the older man older carefully, examining how he held himself, how tense he seemed, and even just the look on his face. It was very slightly different from what he remembered, all in all, but whether that actually made a difference was yet to be seen.

"So!" he exclaimed as he walked towards Lyle, stopping several feet away. "Let's see where you stand, puppy. How to...ooh, I got it. Here, simple enough. Come at me." Hallelujah stretched out his arms, smirking. "C'mon, let's see what you remember and what you can do."

Yeah, that wasn't awkward at all. He stood there for a minute, trying to decide how to even start this.

"...When you're standing around like this, I almost feel bad."

He shook his head and tried to focus, imagining a monster or anything else that would get him to actually feel like fighting. He remembered his very first encounter with a monster during his previous stay and how he had felt then, trying to hold on to that feeling for a while so he could actually remember how to fight.

The first punch was a devoid of strength and he mentally kicked himself for that kind of failure. He just really hadn't done this in a while and it felt strange to be punching someone he had worked together with back at home. The only time he had punched someone was...

He pushed that memory away and started a second attempt, this time actually putting more effort into it even if Hallelujah would easily block the attack.

The attack was, of course, blocked easily. "What the hell was with that first sissy little punch of yours? I'll beat you even harder if I think you're holding back, and I don't wanna hear any complaining about how, boo hoo, this is Allelujah's body and I can't hurt him because he's my friend. You're not going to hurt me even if you tried, so you might as well try."

He took a defensive stance, not wanting to go on the offense just yet. For now, he just wanted to test Lyle.
