I just had to type that out. I was at work and only caught part of President Obama's (okay, one more time) speech, but it gave me shivers. Beyond the overt text, I also loved his command and obvious enjoyment of language. This is a man acutely aware of the power of words and their layers of meaning, their historical significance. I've been pretty good, although not feeling very fannish lately. :( Oh, well, it happens. Still training and having fun with that. Work's still pretty good. Doggies are fine. :D

Good. We still have a contract for one party to buy my mom's house, but the closing (which had been put back once already) is set for Feb. 20. It won't happen. I suspect the property needs a new well, and also easements created in 1892 must be vacated by the township.

The good news is, we got another offer -- considerably higher, in fact -- so if the first people bag it, I can sell it for more money.

I'm writing Chuck porn in my spare time. It's a cute show. Spies, computer geeks, etc.

It's been damned cold this winter, and snowing a couple inches every other day, so the roads are always crap. I await spring.*G*
