Magical SparklesAn Enchantment listing for Princess: the Pink.
Standard Enchantment: Glitter
Sparkles are ephemeral things, but some princesses learn to bind that magical power with objects. The connection serves as an anchor, allowing the sparkles to linger and to continue to flow sparkle magic into the world. The Enchantment of Glitter connects sparkles to the material world through an anchor point, transforming it into magical glitter that binds with and empowers an object.
This Enchantment can be used to create Trinkets, objects granted magical powers of their own. Each dot of the Enchantment of Glitter enhances the roll to create a Trinket. Additionally, a princess can only create Trinkets of a dot value equal to or less than her Enchantment of Glitter rating. See the rules for the Trinket Merit for details on the capabilities of each level of Trinket.
In dire straits, a princess may release the glitter invested in the object to produce sparkles. This is an instant action, rolling Resolve + Crafts, and requires physically holding the Trinket to be divested. On success, a divested Trinket releases half of its Trinket rating in sparkles, rounding down (this means that divesting a one-dot Trinket yields nothing). The breakdown of the glitter strains the former Trinket to its breaking point, however. The object not only loses all magical power, but breaks, becoming useless for even its mundane applications. On an exceptional success, the Storyteller may choose to allow sparkles equal to the Trinket rating minus one to be recovered; on a dramatic failure, the sparkles escape without being collected, but the object still shatters.
Princesses following the Guiding Light or the Castle in the Clouds receive experience discounts when learning the Enchantment of Glitter.
Cost: 1 sparkle per dot rating of the Trinket to be created; 1 additional sparkle per roll after the first
Action: Extended
The Storyteller is encouraged to determine target successes and roll durations based on the rating of the Trinket to be created. For example, a one-dot Trinket might be an involving work, requiring fifteen minutes per roll and ten successes to complete. A five-dot Trinket is breathtaking, and might require as much as four hours of work per roll and twenty-five successes to complete.

Standard Enchantment: Love
Love is the power that sustains, the soft inner glow that keeps a person warm and allows them to continue on. A princess's inner purity and virtue allows her to call on the power of love, to push her onward when the light dims and everything seems dire. Through the Enchantment of Love, a princess swaddles her love around herself or others. These magical effects represent the dawn coming after the darkness.
Princesses following the Glowing Smile or the Flowing Fortress receive experience discounts when learning the Enchantment of Love.
• Love Yourself
The most basic teaching of love is to learn to love yourself. Fittingly enough, the most basic teaching of the Enchantment of Love is the same: to learn to take your self-confidence, self-esteem and love of being yourself and use it to fight on through whatever life throws at you. A princess who knows how to love herself can swaddle her splendor up in a warm burst of reassurance. She can reflexively spend sparkles to heal lethal or bashing wounds at a 1:1 rate. The number of wounds that can be healed in this way at once is limited only by the number of sparkles she can expend at once, as determined by splendor.
•• The Ties That Bind
Love is a matter of connections: the ties by which all people are connected. The Enchantment of Love teaches princesses to understand her ties to other people, and to follow them. By whispering a story of her connection to a person to a sparkle, and then releasing it, a princess can interest it in following the connection to see its conclusion. By watching the sparkle's flight, even without following it physically, the princess can thereby know instantly where somebody to whom she is connected can be found. Moreover, the sparkle's flight patterns sometimes become erratic and distressed. The character can determine from this sign whether the person being sought is in danger.
Cost: 1 sparkle

Dice Pool: Intelligence + Empathy + Love
Roll Results
Dramatic Failure: Your character fails to explain her connection to the sparkle properly, and it gets confused. It flies off in some other direction, and your character becomes convinced that the person being sought is elsewhere from where she really is. Sometimes this can be dangerous-like when time is of the essence, or if the false trail leads straight into a nest of demons.
Failure: Your character fails to explain the connection in a heartfelt manner. The sparkle is unable to see and follow the trail, and your character does not learn where the person they seek is.
Success: Your character learns the general location of the person she seeks. The Storyteller should not make this overly broad-the information will certainly be more specific and helpful than "in Springfield" if your character is also in Springfield at the time. At the Storyteller's discretion, it may not be exact. Additionally, your character knows instantly whether the person she seeks is under threat of physical harm.
Exceptional Success: Your character knows instantly the exact location of the person she seeks, right down to floor number and which room if she is in a large building, or landmarks to guide by if she is in the middle of a wide field. Additionally, your character knows whether the person is under threat of physical harm.
Suggested Modifiers:
+2The person being sought is a close loved one with a long history-a parent, sibling or spouse.
+1The person being sought is close-a best friend or true love.
+1The person being sought is in a familiar place your character associates with him.
-The person being sought is a friend or family.
-1The person being sought is somewhere your character has never been.
-1The person being sought is somewhere uncharacteristic your character would not associate with him.
-1The person being sought is only an acquaintence.
-1The person being sought is unfriendly to your character.
-3The person being sought is an enemy, and means your character (or your character means him) physical harm or profound failure.
••• Love Others
A princess who learns to feel her connections with other people is on the road to learning how to reach her love outward. At this level of understanding of the Enchantment of Love, a princess can touch other people with her love, washing over them with the same refreshing support that it can grant to herself. A princess can use Love Others to pour her splendor outward and swaddle another person within line of sight, sustaining them with a feeling of love.
Cost: 1 sparkle

Dice Pool: Wits + Empathy + Love

Dramatic Failure: Something goes wrong. The effort to reach her splendor out is too much for the princess, and she expends herself in the ordeal. She takes two points of bashing damage.

Success: For every success rolled, the person may either heal a point of bashing damage, or downgrade a point of lethal damage to bashing damage.
Exceptional Success: As a success.
•••• My Strength Is Yours
A princess who feels her connections to other people strongly understands a very old lesson: a person is as strong as the support she has behind her. My Strength Is Yours puts that lesson into action. The princess cheers her friends on, expresses her heartfelt support, or otherwise demonstrates how she stands behind her ally. In this way, she can pour her own strength behind another's efforts.
Cost: -
Action: Instant
Dice Pool: Resolve + Empathy + Love
Roll Results
Dramatic Failure: Your princess pours her heart into the display, but no connection is formed. Disheartened by the rejection (whether intentional or unintentional) of her heartfelt support, she loses a point of Willpower.
Failure: The connection your princess demonstrates is not strong enough, or your ally is distracted or otherwise fails to witness it. Your princess doesn't lose heart entirely, but continued failure adds up. Every failed attempt at My Strength Is Yours adds a cumulative -1 die penalty to repeat attempts by the same princess in the same scene.
Success: For every success rolled, your princess may transfer one point of Willpower to her ally, or alternatively one sparkle if the subject of My Strength Is Yours has a sparkle pool. Your princess loses whatever points are transferred to her ally.
Exceptional Success: As a success. Additionally, the display is heartening, and even if for a moment, a deep connection is felt by both participants. Both the user and subject of My Strength Is Yours recover a point of Willpower in addition to any points transferred.
••••• Love the World
A princess who understands the Enchantment of Love deep within her heart loves the world. She loves living within it, and the light that shines within her will glow as bright as it can to keep anyone from losing this beautiful world they share. She reaches her inner light outward to shine upon someone in line of sight, and her power to Love the World brings them back from even the gravest possible injury.
Cost: 3 sparkles
Action: Instant
Dice Pool: Wits + Empathy + Love
Roll Results
Dramatic Failure: Something goes wrong. Your princess's light shines too bright, or the effort is simply too much to overcome. She takes one point of aggravated damage.
Failure: Your princess's light does not shine bright enough. Nothing happens.
Success: For every success rolled, the subject may either heal one point of lethal damage or downgrade one point of aggravated damage to lethal damage.
Exceptional Success: As a success.
