not on a traumatizing level, though. do you think that's possible!? that's kinda frightening!
i'm hoping to gain a new appreciation and add to my waking life by first gaining control of my dream one.

i disagree with your statement "the events and possibilities are as limited as my thinking"
there is much more to us and the limitless possibilities that are fabricated within our unconscious minds..
i'm sure there are lots of plot twists deep within you that will be unanticipated..
but if you were able to harness the power of volition you should be able to overcome any obstactle ..
or at least test yourself with out the risk of the waking failure...
and they could make for some great stories/characters whilst you can remember them....
best wishes and pleasant dreams

but complete awareness in a dream would be realizing that every single thing in it is just an extension of your no-longer-sub-conscious. so how could anything be involuntary? of course i wouldn't know, because i've never done it before...but i would assume there are varied intensities of lucidity.
i am hoping to have more creative adventures! thank you!

unfortunate and uncontrollable things happen to us all the time in the wake, so why can't we at least have a say in our own dreams?
thanks very much, and good luck to you too, if you're still striving for a lucid dream!

Anyways, you'd probably find some Freud, Jung, and general psych of sleep texts helpful. I took ought a history of Psych book from the library just today.
