When Lies Come to Light....

Oct 17, 2009 09:57

As you know, I have been following up on the story of Baby Keegan. In my last entry, I wanted to talk about breaking the cycle of abuse and how we as a society can become the voice when the parents refuse to speak on behalf of the children, the elderly and the ones that were silenced in death. I also want to thank a friend in England for the ( Read more... )

"Planned Parenthood", my ass... Don't give them too much credit. Those bastards kill kids.

They're trying to start a branch here in Knoxville... Goshdarnit, if they do, I'll burn it down myself! I don't care about the arson charges!

Err, by 'kill kids', I meant 'abortion', in case you weren't aware of thier more controversial services.

Yes, I am aware. You know, you just brought up a very interesting side to this equation. What about seeing the good in the bad to prevent child abuse? That's the main topic of this entry and yet you are more concerned about abortion. Think about this for a moment. If we associate the bad things with any place, we tend to think that's all the place will do such as Planned Parenthood doing nothing but abortions without really thinking that there are other services that are involved with the facility such as STD education and prevention. Without places like Planned Parenthood, do you really think that anyone would have learned what an STD could potentially do?

The low cost services for testing keeps the spread down. Now is that bad? No. Is it counterproductive? No. What is counter productive is forcing an issue that is merely a starting point for parents that didn't want children to begin with to have a child then later have cases like Keegan later on in life. That's the point of this entire issue. Preventative measures.

Why would you put your trust in something that kills children just because they save children too?

There are other places that do and teach some of the same exact things as Planned Parenthood only without the abortions, all over the country. THAT's who you should be supporting. Never go for less when there is better out there. Not when it comes to human lives- no matter what stage they're in.

This is a very personal subject for me, William. Watch where you tread.

For future references, don't come here unless you are prepared to debate and offer something other than threats when you could be a contributing member of society and offer ideas and suggests.

Ooh! Ooh! Oo~ooh! *waves hand enthusiastically* CONTRIBUTING MEMBER OF SOCIETY WISHES TO DEBATE!!! *flashes peace sign* I come in peace. *sly grin*

In Nyami's defense, abortion is a natural segue to Planned Parenthood. Purp-kun brings up a good point that abortion is not the main topic. However, it wasn't ever stated in the entry that this is a structured debate. It seems to me that it's still a personal journal, and related topics, however in tangent, could be discussed as well. Your user info does state: This blog is specifically designed to discuss social differences in settings such as the internet and through physical interactions that most have either overlooked or ignored. This leads me to believe it's natural to discuss abortion, as it does fit in with the statement ( ... )

Good for you and thank you for your response. Yes, it's true that I didn't place a specific order and I too may have acted out of line in my own defense to Nyami's statement about abortion. Though neither of us are wrong per-se though it does raise eyebrows.

Be it as it may that it's a personal blog, I still have a boundary issue when it comes to respecting another person's space. For example, if I saw an issue that really bothered me that was the main topic of that entry in another person's personal entry I would respect that person's rights to voice their opinion on the matter and giving my own in a respectful manner. It's similar to walking into a person's house. How would they feel with my words? How would they react to my responses, etc. It should be common knowledge though it seems more lost these days, I'm afraid.

There is a lot of information out there to be had, but such can be said for a lot of different issues where ignorance is the prevailing cause behind a lot of strife and grief. This is why I'm doing what I can to ( ... )

Not to blow your tires, but my replies are:

Yeah, cool, yup, thank you, and thanks!

What are you doing to actively prevent child abuse?

I actually laughed at the short response and glad that you asked the question.

I am actively seeking and waiting for a response from my congressman and from the local judiciary to become a leader in my area in preventing child abuse. I can't necessarily stop it single handedly but I can still help in any way that I can. I have been a volunteer during my off time and helped children that were abused. I would like to spend more time if I could but that is not possible at the moment which defeats the purpose.

I have volunteered as a youth group adviser. I have and would like to continue being a youth group leader providing that things do work out for me on a personal level.

I am only one person that does have to contend with family and with schooling so its pretty much determined that my time is limited.
