As You Look Into My Eyes.....

Nov 16, 2009 06:56

Okay, I promised that I would keep my journal updated daily. Well, as you can tell, it hasn't been for nearly 2 weeks now. My deepest apologies. Recently, I spent some time with a grieving friend. She had lost someone very dear to her and the details are not up to me to discuss so please don't bother asking.

Where was I in my notes? I don't ( Read more... )

Well we have to realize that the earth is getting old. She has been around for a very long time and eventually even she ages. I am not sure when the world will end or if some great change will bring about catastrophe to the inhabitants of earth. I really never thought about it.

I listen to WYSO and they also bring up the subject of dying and death. They asked people what they would do if they knew when their death was. I am not sure what I would do really. I know I will die some day but I know I will probably not be ready for it when the time comes. All I can do is live in the now and do what I can and hope that I at least made a difference and touched those that I will inevitably leave behind.

Ah but if we all die at the same time, there is no need to worry about a legacy to leave behind. Yes, she's up there in years, and yes she has seen her ups and downs in evolution and changes. If we truly are the pinnacle of her cycle, then the cockroach will be our predecessor and successor.

We never really know what's beyond tomorrow other than what we know happened today.

Quite true quite true. That is why I choose to live in the now. Yes I do keep the future in mind when I make decisions that will effect it but I try not to dwell too much on it or on the past. I know my childhood was not the best but I have moved on and when it creeps back up on me I deal with it and move on. I will definitely not be a victim. It waste too much time that I do not really have.

Dwelling on negative issues before we have a chance to learn about the life we lead and how we affect others is a very good indication on our own selfish desires.

By all means, strike out there in the world and do what you feel is the right thing. We only have one chance.

Heh. I'm not going to argue with you on the bible thing because I'll have surprisingly strong opinions in the other direction, and I'll start bringing in tedious hebrew and aramaic, and jsut how difficult it is to find fifty different agreeing opinions on one thing in any sort of "fiction" setting... And will certainly raise a few eyebrows in context of what I play as ont he RPJ--I'm actually "deeply religious" and ironically still like to laugh about it.
I'd say we might have a little guidance, but yeah, we're not going to know if we're not supposed to know.
...But that's a religious discussion and a half right there, so...meh.

Pastime number one for bored sociopaths--
Find yourself an ancient book, label it "secret knowledge the establishment/established religious heads.government do not/does not want you to have" and put it on the shelves, then retire off the royalties while people scream about the theories at eachother.
...Psst. Hey! Wanna buy a copy of the "gospel of Judas"? XDDDAhh~ Global warming though. *sighs* Dino poo's one ( ... )

You have a very good point when you mentioned, "You don't see much blame for human impact on that mini-ice-age a few centuries back, mind you..." The blue shift in the sun is another likely button that is pushed to create such panic of "We're burning alive!"

Looking at this from a theological standpoint, I think we are in for one serious let down or for one tremendous wake-up call. Either one, we are looking at extremes and faith in either point for such a destructive means to an end. "Light the fire boys! It's time for a barbecue! Let the flames of Hell lick your feet!" The biblical references to the end of the world comes in goes in waves. We'll never see it, I don't think. It will be swift, and so I believe.

Let me grab my wallet and meet me in the alley. Judas has a point. Can we see the Gospel of Mary while we're at it?
