An update....Has it been that long?

Feb 18, 2010 08:53

I had a great time with a friend over the past several hours. We talked over coffee and bagels with various fruit spreads and we discussed anything and everything from our roleplays to old movies. It's a shame that the fun had to end and reality takes place. Glasgow really knew what to say to cheer me up despite that he plays a murderous ( Read more... )

It is nice to hear from you again. I know you have had a pretty busy schedule. I hope school is going well for you. Glasgow is an interesting person. I am glad that he joined the kkm community and I look forward to seeing more posts from him. I have not watched Ed Wood. Perhaps I will watch it someday. I look forward to seeing Alice in Wonderland especially since I have seen the special footages. It would be interesting to see Willy Wonka direct a film. I bet he would put as much devotion and heart into it as he would his candies.

I don't think he would be that great of a movie director at all. Willy's visions are far too abstract to capture on film which would put him in the same category as Ed Wood for the Worst Director award.

True but he would still put forth the effort even if it did turn out bad. I am sure though that Willy would stick to what he does best and that is make chocolate and other confectionery sweets.

Have you seen any of the footage of the Mad Hatter with Johnny Depp talking about him? From what I have seen he is going to be a very interesting character indeed.

Sorry about the late response on this. Yes, I have and I thought it was an interesting take though I'm really none too keep on the idea at first. It wasn't until I had seen it on screen that the depth really shown through and I like it.

Johnny has always done something new and different with every role he takes on. Now, I've seen all of his movies at least 10 times and some....I don't recommend at all. I like the depth he puts into his characters and you can certainly see a transformation from his earlier years to his most recent films.

When you say award for worst director, are you talking about the Golden Raspberry Awards? (aka Razzies?) The only silent movie I've ever seen was "Wings," which is the first movie ever to win an Academy Award for Best Picture, and it was the only silent film to win Best Picture. Right after that, they came out with the "talkies."

I enjoy seeing a particular actor's/actress' filmography. I've never been able to watch them all for any one actor/tress, and I wasn't able to watch them in order, either. That would be interesting! However, if I were to watch movies in order, it would be a director's filmography. I did, once, start a project where I would watch all the movies that had won Best Picture at the Oscars (starting with the aforementioned), but I never finished that project. Poo... (Maybe we could get together and start it over? Although, I don't think I could sit through Cimarron one more time... >.>)

I want to see Alice and Wonderland, too! That movie looks good.

Oh, have you seen "Blow" 2001?

I'm going to watch Blow again this evening. I'm pretty excited to go through all of my movies and just watching them brings back so many memories. The one film I will not watch again is "The Astronaut's Wife". It didn't feel right to me.

Oh, yeah, I heard of that one. I didn't get a good feeling from the commercials. Is it bad?

It's not really my cup of tea. Others liked it fine. I just didn't think he was meant for that particular role. Act I Johnny Depp wasn't as picky about his roles as he is in Act II.

I can't really say it was bad. It just seemed too heavy for his particular style. It didn't seem like a good fit for him. The role of the commander seemed more fitting for someone like Tom Cruise or Alec Baldwin than Johnny Depp but that's just my opinion.

Skunky's first reaction: "SHIT! Glasgow's a HE!"
I feel pretty stupid, but that's not out of the ordinary. (I usually assume "She" ebcause so much of the internet is female, this side. Forgive me. *dies of embarassment*)
I AM glad that someone's helping, though. I kept telling myself to send you an email involving turnips, and kept forgetting. (True story, actually. http://www.harkavagrant.com/index.php?id=203) It was going to be tremendously inspiring, and involve implications of flatulence towards your foes, but I'm scatterbrained in the extreme. I have a turnip!wonka icon if you ever wish to speak to these misguided young ladies again, though. I don't know exactly what happened, but I'm pretty sure given your temperment it'd be a misunderstanding, not genuine taffy-oriented malice.Hey. I like silent movies, too. So many of the movies I DO see are actually old silent films, or talkies. (Too much Hitchcock, mostly ( ... )

....Dare I ask, "How is getting flashed by a gay guy supposed to make me feel better?" You really want to get my attention? Show me an antique book, and coyly start to lift the cover~

Poor Glasgow...he seems to get as confused for the opposite gender as I do... And he doesn't even have a smelly name like me...

Glasgow is used to having his gender mixed up and he plays along with it really well. He's good for rolling with the punches, always have.

You should really sleep a little better. It's a bit of a redundant issue now since you're probably not in the same shape as you were when you made the comment though I can't help but say it anyway. Passing out on keyboards only put letters on your forehead. XD

Everyone tells me so. I tells me so too. But it never goes how I like for one reason or another. (I function suprisingly well on little sleep despite it all. But sometimes I just can't hold my head up. =__=)

I've got the letters on my head to proove it. It says L O S E R right on my forhead.

Anyway... uhhh... I'm sure at the time I had something to say about this post but it seems to have slipped my mind. :/ Hmmm...

LOL You're not a Loser. Anyway, it's cool. I think we all suffered from some sort of depravity in one way shape or form somewhere along the lines.

I LOVEEEEE Ed Wood! It's one of my favourite Johnny Depp films :3 I really love the real Ed Wood too.

I hope that a project where we choose a character and put that character in a real life person's shoes, who would that character be. I have now two people in mind. J.M. Barry and Edward D. Woods Jr. What awesome choices! <3

Ed Wood cracks me up! He's normal and so honest that his humor is really an honest humor which I like. J.M. Barrie really has the heart. Well, they both do, to be honest. Ed has the drive and creativity without holding back and the same goes with Mr. Barrie. Both are revolutionaries only one of them had a really chaotic feel to him.

I've began a writing project where I have challenged myself to mix two completely opposite characters and blend them together to create a whole new character. The trick really is to find a common ground with the characters that will help them to blend well.

I really agree! I really admire both of them. I love their imagintions, cretaivity and personalities overall. And Peter Pan is one of my all time favourite books and films :D

I really like the sound of your writing project, It sounds very interesting and challenging!

Thank you very much. As soon as I have something worked out, I'll post the original fic with this new character in mind and give everyone a chance to see how this guy works out. It should be interesting to say the least. XD
