Apparently they are boring? or something? BUT, mr. ragsdale pulled me aside and said he MIGHT dedicate a section of SS to 20's broadway. ??? that doesn't help me at all, none of the broadway ( Read more... )

Y'know, I thought about it....Showstoppers never has a theme. It's always a variety show, meaning the opposite of themed. The closest the show ever comes to having a "theme" is the opening song, but it' not really a theme because it doesn't pervade the rest of the show. Last year the t-shirt matched the opening song, but that was it. In fact, in the years before, not even the t-shirt matched the opening song. So where did this theme crap come from? Because it's pretty gay. And there's nothing wrong with broadway, infact it's easier to make entertaining because it's meant to be vocally and visually performed, not just the former. So, yeah, dah to this 20th century thing. peace out, rollin hilz.

hey..yknow...a long time ago..in the30's 40's and 50's ALOT of the broadway showtunes were actually pop hits...definitely look into Cole Porter (my heart belongs to daddy) and things like that you could totally get away with that.Look up Rogers and Heart im tellin you youll find something there.

totally agree... then its a song you'll want andit will have been a pop song of the day...

also, take a look at some old movies like babes on broadway, lullabye of broadway, and some fred and ginger stuff. alot of their songs were actually done earlier than their movies. you might find something...
