Seriously, I should be able to figure this out myself!

So, how much exactly did the boys know about Azazel and his special kids by about mid-S2? I'm pretty sure Ruby is the one who told them his real name (or was that the cross roads demon?), but other than that? They figured out that some of the kids turn evil when they ran into Andy and his twin, right? When did they learn about the demon blood?

Sam learned about the demon blood when Azazel came to him in a dream in the season two finale. (I just rewatched this weekend)

I'm pretty sure they knew the kids could go bad as early as Max in mid season one.

Casey in Sin City told Dean Azazel's name in season three.

By mid season two I just think they knew about the other kids and that the demon had something to do with them being special, but not what he wanted them for.

So, basically, they knew nothing and I can do whatever I want. Nice. :P

I would have liked to do something with the blood, but it's probably better if they can just go wild and speculate away.

Thanks!

Nope, Sam figured it out with Max in "Nightmare."

Pretty sure it was Azazel himself who told Sam about the demon blood in AHBL1 (the "flashback" scene in Sam's nursery.) Not sure who told the guys Azazel's name, though -- but yeah, it probably was Ruby.

ETA: I agree with everything titfaching said -- totally forgot about Casey!

Uhm...yeah, okay, that makes sense. I love the Max story line. How could I forget about Max? *shakes head at self*

I totally forgot about Casey, too (probably because I don't like Sin City). I had this line of dialogue in my head with a woman telling Dean "what, you think we just called him Yellow Eyes?" and it sounded condescending enough to be Ruby. But anyway, as long as it's not in S2, it doesn't matter who told them ^^

Pft, who needs canon, anyway? I have a plot* and if canon needs to give to make it work, then canon needs to give!

*'plot' may be a wild exaggeration

I know in Hunted we got a line about the Special Children being soldiers in an upcoming war. So post that ep they'd probably be thinking along those lines.

Hm...I was going to reference Tall Tales and possibly Hollywood Babylon, so it's post Hunted. Actually, that works just great. Soldiers in an uupcoming war is vague enough for Dean to freak out over without anything solid to go on. Way better than having to worry about the ramifications of demon blood.

While Sam learn about the demon blood in AHBL pt1, Dean didn't know about it until season 4 when he went back to the 70s and Azazel told him what he would do when he visited his special kids as babies.

Good point. So, like I said upthread, basically I can do whatever I want :)
