That's pretty much what I've been doing ... using Write Or Die just to get stuff out. That's where most of the 'draft' material was/is from. I've managed to figure out what excerpts I'm going to use and the theme for which I picked them, for there's still a big part of me that's yelling I'm doing the wrong thing and that it's going to turn out crap. Or maybe that's just my panic and insecurity, iunno. Probably.

I'll get there, I just have to get out of the house more often to avoid distractions. ;_; I just wish I could break this procrastination habit; I hate the feeling of running up against deadlines.

My own thesis is kind of creeping up on me, so I feel your pain a bit... nothing like the pressure you have going on now, though. Best of luck getting everything sorted out in time.

Word of advice: start it early. ;_; Mind you, that's probably something all uni students tell themselves they'll do and then never actually do ... still. Good luck for when it comes!

It's not so bad as it was. I'm still later than I wanted to be, but I forgot that part of the word count had to be taken up by summarising the rest of the novel in-between the excerpts, so that's taken quite a chunk out of the count and it doesn't take me long to write to boot. I have one more excerpt left plus the summary linking that to the next, with a good three thousand words to do it in ... suddenly it doesn't seem like enough. XD Other than that I only have to do a character tree so my supervisors know who's who ... oh lord I hope that's not supposed to be part of the thesis, I don't have any word count left. ;_;
