Fanfic meme
I have not posted here in months, so I decided stealing Bay's meme might help me start posting again. XD
1: How did you first get into writing fanfic, and what was the first fandom you wrote for? What do you think it was about that fandom that pulled you in?
I think I always wrote it without realising I was writing it. I remember writing a Godzilla (recent remake) fanfic for story-writing in grade four or five, which is probably the very earliest, but I also remember writing Resident Evil and other such fanfics later on. Most of them are lost now, thanks to computer failures, but I started pretty early without realising that it was fanfic.
The earliest one I posted for others’ viewing was a Lord of the Rings ficlet about Legolas and Gimli, a ‘what if they met when Gimli was a child’ sort of thing. Pokémon was the fandom that really got me into it, though. I’m not entirely sure why; could be because it’s the first fandom for which I really got feedback regarding my writing, on top of loving the premise. It wasn’t until I started writing for Pokémon that I started really getting assaulted by ideas for every other fandom too, so Pokémon really did open those doors.
