It is, isn't it? I didn't even mean to align the phrase with the date; the phrase itself was just the most ironic given the subject of the story and it's one of the most memorable and meaningful for me personally, so it felt the most appropriate to use.
Oh my goodness, a hundred times yes. I mean, I liked this already but then L E S T W E F O R G just kind of... I don't know, stirred something inside me? (Also, I just made a bet with myself that you're Australian based on that! XD)
Ahaha, you'd win that bet! The phrase stirs something in me too, which is a big part of why I used it. Near my place there's a main road with a library on it, and on the building is a fixed-face clock with 'lest we forget' written on the edge. Every time I drive past I have to take a second to look up at it, just because.
I'm glad you liked the story, and thanks for saying so. :3
Oh, right ON, 48 million points! I was really hoping someone would write a story like this... I was a bit tempted, but didn't want to be too obvious, so I came at a similarly themed concept from a completely different angle, and then, too, I was glad that not everyone did it, but was a bit disappointed when I was one entry away from my last and hadn't seen it yet, so, thanks for not letting my hopes down! I was worried there for a bit that I wouldn't run across this classic story, but, here it is, and told so well... great job!
Haha, I was a bit worried it would be too typical for people too, but from what I've seen people have managed to to pull out a really diverse range of texts. :3 I'm glad you liked it and thanks for commenting!
