My mother always says to make a pros and cons list. You obviously have already been mulling these over, but writing them down and having them stare you in the face is sometimes more useful.

I personally say don't do camp. There are advantages to going obviously, but four months is a huge commitment when you are stretching to make the time work as it is. On a strictly logistical basis, staying home is more feasible. Yes there are good things at camp, but there are also bad things at camp. It's not as though you are making a decision between something perfect (an imaginary camp that would never exist) and something flawed but practical (staying home).

Happy?

Have you ever been happy? One should hope so. misery has a bad effect on the soul.

Think of kittens and chocolate cake, or something of the sort.
