I would like some sort of pet.  I was originally looking at turtles, but they actually involve more money and upkeep than I thought

Betta fish are gorgeous and easy, but they definitely seem more like decoration than a pet.

I'd almost want to suggest a bird but ngl, they can be so obnoxious, messy, and loud. But sometimes cockatiels can be pretty cute and quiet, and they're definitely more socialble than a lizard.

Honestly, birds kinda creep me out, particularly when they remind me of dinosaurs.

I've decided on three oriental fire belly toads. They're cute, cheap and easy. Alec has agreed providing he doesn't have to do anything. He's a little grumpy now, we'll probably go to the pet store tomorrow!
