I'm a better feminist now

I had my first PAP smear this morning. I saw my cervix. I have a pretty sexy cervix, I have to say.

And now I need to be productive . . . -- oh look, it's almost lunch time!

Is it wrong to coo, "Sister's first pap smear~"? ...I have the feeling it is.

When I got my first, they didn't let me see my cervix. *pouts*

Speaking of paps, I should really schedule my second. >0_o< (And how the heck did you get away with going to get one? Mom was pretty adamant that I NOT get one, and I couldn't while I was still on their insurance. Thank goodness I eventually got my own insurance?)

Well I made the plans to get one at the Health Center on campus (free health care, I might as well use it), so I'd already made the appointment by the time I talked to Mom about it. And my reasoning with Mom was, "Well I'm 21 now . . ." (totally not because I'm sexually active, oh no, nothing like that . . . er, uhm, yeah)

I don't know why Mom freaked out with you about it. I think she's kinda iffy with OB/GYNs because she's had some bad ones before -- one tried to convince her to remove her uterus, and she never agreed with his reasoning so she stopped seeing him. I think she just gets paranoid maybe, but she was okay with me seeing someone at Agnes? I dunno . . .

I tried to pull the "age" thing on Mom, including with the "But I'm over 18 and I should be getting one once a year because things happen!" reason, but Mom was still very firm about it. (Also, Mom doesn't talk to me the way she does with you--no one's fault, that, it just wound up being that way... so I didn't know that about her. Oi. I can see why that might make her paranoid...)

Huh. Regardless, I'm glad you got to go!
