Part One

"So how was patrolling the Forbidden Forest last night?" Pansy asked Draco as they walked into their mandatory Muggle Studies class with the rest of the Eighth years.

"It was good," Draco lied forcing him to keep a neutral face and not blush as he recalled a musty scent and shared body heat. "How was patrolling the Great Hall?"

"Oh, caught some Hufflepuffs and surprising several Ravenclaws." Pansy said and Draco raised his eyebrow surprised; he thought Ravenclaws were smart enough not to go there for a nightly escapade.

As they walked to their seats, Draco made sure not to look at Potter. He saw Pansy raise an eyebrow, but decided against asking why, not wanting to know what her inquiry might be. Pansy seemed about ready to ask her question, but Draco was fortunately saved by their Muggle Study teacher, Professor Bridgewood.

"Today we're doing something very interesting," Professor Bridgewood announced. "I have gotten permission from Headmisstress McGonagall to have you all excused from the rest of your classes --" He paused as Draco and the rest of the class cheered in joy. "You will be paired by partners of my choosing, to go to what muggles call a fair."

Draco and Pansy shared a look, wondering what the 'fair' could be.

"Before you start planning, here are the rules: One, you must stay with you partner during your duration of your stay at the fair; two, if you decided to leave the fair early, you can head to Hogsmeade; three, since this is a muggle area you will be visiting, you cannot wear your wizarding robes; and four, have fun. I'll trust you all not to reveal the statue of secrecy. Now onto who your partners are..."

---

"Are you ready yet, Potter?" Draco asked his partner as he shrink his robe to put into his jean pocket. When he didn't get an answer, Draco told himself to stop thinking about what happened last night and turned to see that Potter was staring avidly at him. "What?" He asked and looked down on his silver sweater, blue jeans and black converses thinking he had a stain on one of them.

Another impressive blush lite up Potters and Draco told himself that he didn't think it was fetching. "It's just that, ah, I-I never actually seen you in, er, muggle clothing before. Ithinkyoulooknice."

Draco blinked, confused at the last sentence. He rerun the words in his head and blushed when he deciphered it. "Oh, I think you look nice, too." He glanced at Potter's green jumper, black pants, and red sneakers. "Are you ready to go, Potter?"

"Go? To the fair, right." Potter said as if reminding himself, and then he looked steadily into Draco's eyes with an emotion that Draco couldn't identify. "I'm ready when you are."

---

"Ew!" Draco exclaimed after he saw a muggle boy puked in front of the Twilt-A-Whirl ride.

Potter laughed and turned to him. "It's not good to eat food before you go on a ride."

Draco nodded as he turned away from the morbid display. So far they have only walked around the fair and took a look at some of the stands. As they continued to walk around, Draco looked at the roller coasters, they were intriguing with all their twists, turns and dips, but Draco wasn't sure he would want to try one with the amount of screaming he was hearing.

"Harry!"

They turned and saw Granger and Pansy coming towards them.

"Hey, Hermione, have you guys gotten on any rides yet?" Potter asked.

"Yes," Pansy answered, "We went on that Zero Gravity ride, and we were going to the Griffin, when we saw you two just standing like idiots."

Draco snorted at Pansy statement, and she sent him a smile and put something red with a twirl in his hand.

"It's called a licorice stick, Malfoy. It's very good." Granger piped up and Draco took a bite.

It was good, Draco decided and continue to eat the treat.

"Do you guys want to come with us?" Pansy asked.

"I just ate." Draco complained, remembering the bloke from earlier who threw up, ignoring the odd look Pansy sent him.

"Don't worry, by the time we get on the ride, you'll be wanting something to eat." Granger said with a smile.

---

Granger was right, it took about an hour or so to get on the ride, and by that time Draco wished he never agreed to go on the ride. Pansy, of course, wanted to get in the first row. By the time the ride got to its zenith and tilted a ninety degree angle, Draco heard his heart beating rapidly in his chest. When the cart dropped, Draco screamed, closed his eyes and grabbed the hand to his left.

The hand that Draco gripped tugged gently. "Malfoy, the ride's over."

Draco cracked open his eyes to see Potter standing up and tugged on his hand again. He felt embarrassed, not only did he scream, but he was also holding Potter's hand! Pulling his hand away, Draco stood and exited the Griffin, promising never to get on another roller coaster ride.

"Oy, Hermione," Draco heard Potter say, "I'm not up for another roller coaster ride and I'm pretty sure Malfoy isn't either. We'll see you too later, yeah?"

Draco was glad that once again he was saved from the questions that Pansy would no doubt have in her head.

--

"Do you want to go in there?" Potter asked and Draco turned away from the Haunted House and nodded. "And if you get scared, you can hold my hand again."

Draco snorted and shoved Potter when he walked passed him. The line for the Haunted House was non-existent, and Draco could see why as their ride began. All of the monsters were fake: the vampire moved so slow and said 'blah', the ghost wasn't even realistic looking, and the fur on the werewolf head looked too fluffy. Draco told himself that he didn't jump when he heard a howl.

As soon as he and Potter were out of the 'Haunted House' they both started laughing at the poor representation, until their stomach's growled.

"Come on, Malfoy, I've heard from I've heard from Hermione that we should try the funnel cake."

Draco followed and saw that the funnel cake was fried dough with powdered sugar on top. Although Potter only brought one funnel cake and they had to share and their fingers kept bumping against each other, Draco decided with a smile that everything was good.
