Thanks for venting your frustration!! I didn't even know this was happening and still have a chance to participate. :D
It does seem kind of counter productive to tell people to blog about it while they have the lights off...still using power...and the pictures with the candles and big screen tv's.....kinda missing the point there. Anyways, never underestimate the stupidity of the human race. Or their ability to be just that self absorbed, everybody is guilty of it as some point, some more so then others though it seems.

Someone has even used the excuse that she can't knit by candlelight! It's just so frustrating. The thread we discussed it last year went on a similar vein too.
How is the world going to change when people aren't even prepared to turn their lights off for an hour?
Coz that's the thing, ok, so it's starting off with a really small gesture of lights off for an hour - but over time, as people get used to the idea, maybe it can grow and people can realise that it is possible to do something that won't have a negative impact on their lives.
