I went to see it in the theater with my mom last night (she thought it was lovely) and I was the only one who squealed at that scene. Heck, I may never STOP squealing at that scene. :D
I loved the film, and left thinking I could happily see it again, so having the chance to actually Get The Joke in that scene (the acting in it was generally lovely, anyway) makes me happy.
Now, I think I can be forgiven in that I only saw P&P for the first time in 2010, but I didn't recognise her either. And when I came home and saw it on my flist, it totally made me want to go back and watch it again. It's an awesome movie, regardless. I'm pulling for Mr. Firth in the Oscars this year.
My grandparents are here, so I was online very little last night (aside from being sucked into TVTropes). Argh! I really wanna be able to catch up with you!
I'm more "I love P&P! HOW THE HELL DID I NOT REALISE THAT WAS JENNIFER EHLE?!" (And Wormtail! Winston Churchill was Wormtail!) Damn actors disappearing into character/makeup.
Oh, I totally got Wormtail! But I spot the HP people pretty fast because I've seen the movies SO MANY TIMES. I really should watch P&P again soo, it's been too long.
