I feel I've neglected dear LJ in the wake of my Facebook addiction.

I'm living in Peterborough with Kris and working at this group home of adults who have intellectual disabilities and are also deaf/hard of hearing/non-verbal.  My sign language is coming along.  At this point I'm not really able to converse with fully-functioning deaf people but

Things are going, we are making the preparations for the wedding...I just bought a beautiful white corset to wear under my dress, and a tiara to wear on my head.

We may be getting a second cat...and well yeah, that is about it.

I finally attending a gathering of the freemasons. It was...interesting.

How am I, you ask? I'm currently jealous of your job - that sounds roughly like what I'd like to do. How did you find it?

I found it through the job bank and an employment agency. If you have a psych degree or something similar it shouldn't be too hard! I haven't heard of many deaf-oriented agencies, so that angle could be harder if that's what you're looking for. I worked in group homes in Halifax too but for a less deaf, more mental illness-intensive group.
