I've somehow stumbled into being a college student again!  It started with the chamber music class I was taking, which used to be part of the community college's "adult ed" program, but it turned into a regular class with a different instructor.  I never knew how easy it was to register for classes -- it involved an application form online, but it ( Read more... )

I really wish I could have taken more art classes (both dance and also things like drawing and painting) when I was in college. I've come to the conclusion that adulthood is the part of your life when you get to do what you really wanted to when you were in college but had too much other stuff going on.

After you take some music classes, we should write music software together.

You get to correct me on what it should do, and I'll optimize the signal processing (although I'm guessing you could do a lot of that too)

Then, in phase 2, we steal underwear.

Phase 3: Not worked out yet.

Phase 4: Profit!

There's supposedly some cool transcription software out there that actually works. We could try writing an open source version. The math would probably be fun (all those wave forms!) This might be a lot harder than I'm imagining, though... maybe we just skip to the stealing underwear stage?
