I matched at a specialty practice for an internship to start in late June. I'm still thinking about a residency but haven't decided what I love the most - or even if I love everything too much to just pick. It's a pretty sweet deal - decent pay (for internships, anyway), five day workweek, fast paced, and a great environment to learn in. Also, my first interview question asked how I felt about sarcasm, so it seemed I'd fit in perfectly.
I think I'm more nervous about the big girl things like paying loans than the job itself, but that's mostly because I'm confident that I know pretty much nothing, and that the powers that be will be watching to make sure I don't do anything completely stupid. Everything else will just fall into place.
Are you just finishing out rotations at this point?
Congratulations! I only just found this post but I wanted to say something ... wow, you're there. The start of a big, new adventure. Reading this post I remember some of the ups and downs you've had over the years and it makes me glad and happy that you're now -almost- a fully-functioning vet. It was worth it :) Good luck, Devon.x
Congratulations Devon! Seems like it's been so long since Patho and UConn (in fact it has). I always knew you'd make it. Hope your travels and adventures find you in Raleigh on day, where we have a guest room calling your name! :-)

It's been a long and winding road but gets sunnier by the day! I can't wait to see what comes next.
