You can vote in-person at the Hennepin County Government Center (A-600 Government Center, 300 South 6th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55487). Just tell them you want to fill out an absentee ballot and vote at the same time.
Make sure you are registered with your most current address. But, if you find out you're not, you can also register your new address at the same time.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more questions, and pass this on to your friends!
"It is a felony to make a false statement in an application for an absentee ballot, to apply for an absentee ballot more than once in an election with the intent to cast an illegal ballot, to show a ballot marked by a person to another person, or to violate an absentee ballot provision for the purpose of casting an illegal vote or to help anyone to cast an illegal vote."
In addition to the 4 reasons I listed in my other comment, the application also lists 'eligible state or federal emergency' (paraphrased) as a valid reason.
I don't know what kind of 'application' has to be done if you go in person, so it's possible it doesn't qualify as a felony...
I may be wrong on this, but don't absentee ballots not get counted till after Election Day usually? I'd rather suck it up and wait in line, and have my vote count that day.
nope, absentee ballots get counted at the same time as polling place ballots. all ABs get sent to the precincts in which the voter lives and they are fed through the ballot counter with the rest of the ballots.
