I cannot talk too much about teh beisbol right now because I do not want to jinx. I haven't felt this superstitious about a team in a long, long time. I just...do not want to be the one who screws up the mojo. After the season I will do a long postmortem, I swear.
Criminal Minds Spoilers. Don't read if you haven't seen it.
OMG, Criminal Minds.
I am praying that someone writes a coda to tonight's ep wherein Morgan turns down an invitation to the bimbette's apartment because his boyfriend is waiting in the truck.
Seriously, though, all fangirlish whining aside? I was extremely displeased with Morgan's actions...again. Although Shemar is fantastic and there are so many little things about his acting that amaze me every week (the mouth-tightening thing was fantabulous!), I am so unhappy with the way they're making Morgan's character regress so rapidly. Suddenly, without a valid reason, he's back to where he doesn't trust the team or the decisions they make (Hotch specifically...uh, again) and then he goes and gets way too involved with someone who so very obviously got a big ol' case of tranferrence (sp?). This all despite being the type of profiler who knows better since obsessional crimes are allegedly his area of expertise and surely he's studied transferrence. I really, really want to shake the writers and tell them to smarten up and stop dicking around with his character. We'd made so much progress from the "sulky token tackler" days :( I am also hoping that there's a positive Derek/Penelope scene at the beginning of the episode next week because I did NOT like how that particular storyline ended and I want them to clear the air ASAP. I REALLY don't like tension between those two, of all people. It's unnatural, damn it, and I want it fixed now! (Um. This is where I need to give a HUGE shout-out to
24_centuries for listening to me rant and rave about them making Morgan BE A TOTAL IDIOT through the whole episode. You're the best! ♥)
Hotch, however... Oh, Hotch. *happy dance* I was so excited to see him being more Hotch-ly from the start of the ep to the end of it. Obviously his talk(s) with Dave have begun to bring him back to the front and this pleases me greatly. I absolutely loved his insight on the CoTW's obsession with the unsubs and the implication that he knew how deep into that dark place he'd gone before the team brought him back. More precisely, Dave brought him back.
AND! OMG! When Dave, Em & Aaron were leaving the scene in their kevlar with the music playing and they were doing their WE ARE BOTH ROCKSTARS AND ALSO SUPERHEROES AND YOU SHOULD ADMIRE OUR AWESOME WHILE ALSO APPRECIATING OUR PRETTY walk? Was pretty much the awesomest thing evar. I would have been happy with their part ending like that, but knowing the three of them were drinking together at the office after the case was the icing on the cake. I absolutely love the dynamics of that trio. (I worked very hard not to type "threesome" there because, as appealing as that is, I really did mean that in a totally non-sexual way.)
So, yeah, waiting patiently for someone to give us a good coda to rinse my displeasure with the writers hack job on Morgan's character out of my mouth. Since I doubt that's forthcoming tonight, I'm going to go read
A Simple Plan before bed and I'll continue to pretend that my version of the ending is what actually happened. La la la, don't burst my bubble. :-P
