this comes a bit late, but it only just occurred to me to come look on livejournal (i always forget about it :o(). i just wanted to say that my thoughts have been with you over the past two weeks, and will continue to be so in the coming ones. i feel that it would trivialize the situation and my feelings as well as yours to say too much right now

hi amy love, it is good to hear from you. i'm glad everyone's ok.. which is pretty much all i can say to people these days (to others from nola/gulf, and to strangers about my own family) because even though that definitely is the most important thing, there's still something else deeply sad for all of us. but it feels fucked up to try to explain what is so important about it when other people have lost a lot more, and more concretely. bleh, i'm sure you have a sense of what i'm trying to say. congratulations on the new family members, and i am wishing your grandparents a lot of luck for whatever decision they make. be good.
