How can anyone enjoy reading Harry Potter books?

First time ever that the movies are far superior to the books.

But that is just my opinion. I found JKR's writting drole and bland. Boring as heck. But maybe I've not read as many as I should?

All this hype, finally over.

:)

I thought the writing was a little clunky in the first couple of books but smoothed out the longer she wrote. I don't know if she grew as a writer or if she changed on purpose as her readers would be growing older. I thought they were pretty okay; not the best writer, but she's okay. Gotta pick up my copy tomorrow.

Tytal's right. She definitely improved. She's no prose master, but she got enough right to let me forgive her.

And: First time ever that the movies are far superior to the books.

Either you're MAD, MAD I say, or you haven't read the god-awful abyss that was The Devil's Advocate. I'm not claiming it's a genius movie, just that the book is a steaming pile of crap.

I never read the devils advocate- but the movie was ok and if you read the book and hated it then it makes my point that the movie was better than the book.

Just like JKR books :D:D

I did like the first book tho, just the other 2 I tried to read were horrible- slow, slow, slow

Well, you said 'first time ever' and I felt I must refute it! Refuting things is in my blood, as you well know.

LMAO- I'd forgotten that you were far superior than I with the written word and hence would debate the subtlties of what I said. :)

I call it anal-retentive but subtle works just as well :D

But I stand by what I said. I just should have added.

"First time ever (of the books that I'VE read) that a movie was far, far superior to the book) "

and yeah I knew- that's what I love about ya :D
