You know I really miss all the long essays and discussion I use to have over Buffy and the shows characters and story-lines. I would also occasionally discuss current and sometimes valid 'hot' topics of the day

The majority of founding fathers tended towards deism--the notion that there was a god, and then he just kinda said, "Awright guys, you have a good time. I'm gonna go to the local quick stop," and NEVER CAME BACK

I had not heard of the Jesus Camp, but I did hear about Ted Haggard because whenever an evangelical megachurch preacher gets disgraced, an angel gets it wings. :D :D
I was never gung ho about Bush but out of the alternatives in 2004 there wasn't much to choose from. I knew the other guy would start ww3- bush is stupid that is his problem, the other guy is vainglorious.
I was just proud that I actually wrote more than 50 words this time :D
To tell you the truth, the more I think of the upcoming elections and the idiots all running the more scared I get- hopefully no religious nuts will get in tho.
Man, not to rub it in, but that's why I'm generally glad Canada's got 4 major parties (as well as all the little ones.) There's a better chance for one to Not Be Evil.
As far as I can tell, only the Mormon is that hardcore with his religion, though I haven't been paying as much attention over here.
I weep for the future of this once glorious nation. Americans have been losing their rights little by little over the past 20 years thanks to the religious right and in the end, Americans have been so clueless they totally think it is ok when another right or privilege- that is every free persons right- is whittled away to nothing.
The problem? Nobody wants to THINK FOR THEMSELVES. It's easier to let the president/preacher/whomever just tell them what to do. People like you, who think, and, more importantly, who QUESTION, make the rest very uncomfortable.
These new candidates bother me. The Mormon, The Preacher, The Mayor That Thinks 9/11 Makes Him Important, The Others That Nobody Knows ... so sad. I want somebody honest, unbiased, and non-religious to run for a change. These religious nuts are ruining our country.
I totally agree with you. Unfortunately, all the intelligent people REFUSE to get into politics and we are left with swindlers, crack-pots, abusers, fanatics, and power hungry idiots (hillary) and those who have serious control issues.
