Turing Petition

The No. 10 petition for a public apology of the treatment of Alan Turing has been covered by the BBC. Hopefully this will help more people know about the story behind the man and his eponymous machines and test, and attract more people to the petition.

I just edited a story for a Geoff Ryman antho - my piece is about Turing. A fascinating man and a very sad ending to his story.

Jolly good. I've signed the petition, but anticipate the usual "thanks for your input but we're not interested" response that these things usually get.

He has also written to the Queen to ask for a posthumous knighthood to be awarded to the British mathematician.
This one's a bit of a non-starter, alas - knighthoods are never awarded posthumously.
