Mess

Apr 15, 2009 12:54

Ok my new resolution is to stop cleaning up other peoples mess and stop complaining about other peoples mess. Unfortunately due to my personality I believe this means I can no longer use the work kitchen, the kitchen in my flat or the lounge in my flat. Mmmmm....could be a great new diet.

My solution to this problem is to not live with anybody else and not have a job. There are unfortunately certain downside to this approach.

Hi, by the way. I finally figured out who you are on LJ, and therefore added you. It's Maria here.

Hey :) good to know who you are on LJ!

Yeah I am tempted by the getting my own place. After talking to one of my flatmates I think I am on strike 2, one more and I am out. I am not the easiest person to live with as I am very stuck in my ways. So my own place would be good in that respect but I'm also having some depression problems at the moment (just to make life more fun) so not sure how I'd go on my own right now.

The current plan is to try and do the things I am worst about (shopping, cooking and dishes) separately and then I won't interfere or get annoyed. We are still doing flat shopping and cooking just taking turns rather than trying to do it together. We'll see what happens....

Hmm. Yeah, I've found that while I have every intention of getting out and visiting people, most days it just doesn't happen unless I'm actually invited somewhere or make plans in advance. I guess if the downside of not socializing on a daily basis isn't weighed up by having a space of your own, flatting is a better option. I'm not very tolerant of other people's bad habits, so living on my own has worked out well so far.

I should definitely make an effort to see more people, though. I've only lived here for a few months and am still enjoying it, but in the long run the novelty of solitude will probably wear off.
