Don't feel bad. No one shows up for non-mandatory orientation things. My group has had less than half of the people show up for most of the time now. on the bright side, we were given money/person, but since most people didn't show up, we just got a whole bunch of extra money to spend on shit.

If I wore a tie as a belt people would indeed bat more than an eyelash (like my knees...with a bat). Drinking is rampant and will be taking place here in a few hours. I hope i find some pot-heads soon, as this is getting old fast. How is that issue for you and stuff? It's cool that you have met people that you like.

We have to coordinate one day and you we will both go out in full force (this means as much corduroy as you can muster my friend). I apologize for the excessive length of this comment, I've been sitting in my room for like 4 hours now waiting for people to come back from their real orientation programs and this corrupted of montreal is getting a bit old (Half the songs stop after a minute or 2)

Drinking here is prominent, but it's not hard to not drink. A lot of times (it seems) it's at an upperclassman's house off campus.

A guy told me a story about how his friend did a lot of LSD, and was watching a movie and an eyeball came out of the TV, and then the TV started melting, so he sprayed it with a fire extinguisher. And ruined an insanely expensive plasma TV.

But yeah, there really isn't super heavy drinking or anything. People are experimenting with their freedom right now, and I've encountered lots of drunks (especially on my floor, Turck 1 is kind of a party floor and has a lot of traffic. Drunk nostalgic upperclassmen have a tendency to tell people where they used to live), but it's never been weird or anything. I think I've found the potheads, I just need to actually chill with them instead of Amesfriends+RoommatesandfriendsofAmesfriends.

I'm headin' out.
