Seeing the finished product in Tororo was really cool. I had never seen the lawn before because of all the construction last year. They've also planted some flowers, and it just looks really nice. But here's what I didn't like ( Read more... ) -

I saw Kevi today. He brought me a lovely care package with all sorts of food, as well as travel speakers and a CD. Hooray!

I feel I'm more articulate when I'm typing.
Yesterday's trip was actually very interesting. It was a board meeting (emphasis on the bore, but that's life. It's still good for me to see what the UWCM does on a daily basis) with some teachers, parents, and the headmaster of a school that could end up having a project. On the internets at the UWCM now.
Six ISU students came today to help work for a few days. It seems like we're going from the ground up much more than we did in Tororo. When we arrived there, the basic shell of the building was already built. When we got here, there were just some half-dug trenches. We've worked on the foundation, and haven't ( Read more... ) -

I'm in an internet cafe in Mbaletown right now in Mbale, Uganda. The internet is slow, but that's alright.
I'm very much enjoying myself here. We've done 2 1/2 days of work so far, and I'm really glad we have this weekend when we do. Last night and the night before, my hands were so cramped that it was too painful to journal ( ( Read more... ) -
