I'm sure I've seen garlic and wasabi ice cream on sale. I've not dared try them though. Grapefruit is more sorbet territory, but would be nice.

I hope there hasn't been much snow the last week - two of my colleagues were meant to be trying to hike near Lake Louise after the Lethbridge meeting. I was joking when I said they should watch out for bears - I hope they haven't been eaten!

i htink it could work - as purplecthulhu notes, it would likely work better as a sorbet.

A couple of things:

a) A reminder that I heartily approve of weird flavours of ice cream. Especially ice creams made from spices. HEARTILY APPROVE.

b) On that last note, I bet mouseman would have something very positive to say about a cumin ice cream.

c) Lex Culinaria is doing some cool stuff with ice cream lately, in case you haven't caught it.

I've had chilli icecream, as well as the famous Fat Duck bacon-and-egg icecream. Perhaps you need to contact Heston Blumenthal for an exchange of ideas?
(I've also had durian icecream, which is thoroughly foul, and the memory alas lingers on.)
