I am having a hearty laugh at the idea of myself as crafting/cooking goddess. Just so you know.

I think anyone with an ounce of sense keeps a suspicious eye on the food that they've put up, actually. Even the most experienced can make mistakes, really. I remember my mother canning cherries that we'd brought back from B.C. one summer and having one after another of the jars explode.

I agree with boubabe that the paint will probably get darker with further coats, especially if the board it's on is light in colour.

You're brave to try your own canning, and I'm very glad that it was botulism free!

Espresso chilli - interesting... Hope it was good. I suspect the caffeine might keep me awake all night if I had it for supper, but you're rather more caffeine resistant than me.

Sadly, the espresso chili was only of meh status, not worthy of making again. I shall hope that the tea infused recipe is more palatable.

And I think that both you and Boubabe are correct and that the paint will be darker after a second coat.

if i were both a juggler and a pedant, i'd point out that we call them "clubs", not "pins". oh, wait, i am both a juggler and a pedant. oops. :-)

the photos handslive put up look utterly nifty! every time i bus past i keenly look at what's new. looking forward to the finished product! any guess how soon?

Hey, they look remarkably similar to bowling pins, so I feel completely justified in calling them pins! :)

The finished product should be coming due around end of May or Junish. If you are ever bored enough to wish to have a look at the interior (where most of the change is occuring at the moment) let us know.

they do look remarkably similar - non-jugglers almost inevitably call them pins. and jugglers almost inevitably correct them. :-)
the big difference is of course the balance: i'm alarmed to think what juggling genuine bowling pins would be like.
