“I’m late!”
This was all her captain’s fault. If he hadn’t been drinking all night she wouldn’t have had to go after him to make sure he was returned before the fathers of certain daughters in Rukongai got a hold of him. If she hadn’t been out all night she wouldn’t have fallen asleep while going over those last few papers and wouldn’t be late for her officers meeting.
Nanao rushed out the door, shunpoing blindly forward as she blinked away sleep. By the time she had woken up fully “I’m late” had been joined by “I’m lost”.
She rounded another corner to try to get her bearing and found Captain Zaraki.
“Hey, Nanao-chan! We were going to the meeting, but Ken-chan won’t listen to my directions, so then we realized the meeting’s pretty over already, so we decided to have our own meeting right here.”
Nanao sat down with a sigh next to Captain Zaraki. “Fine, let’s have a meeting, right here, in the middle of this street, if you want.”
“Umm,” Zaraki grunted.
“Yay!” Yachiru cried, jumping from Zaraki’s back onto Nanao’s.
Later, her captain appeared on that street.
“Nanao-chan, you weren’t at the meeting. I was so worried about you! What are you doing out here? You-”
“If you could go away, captain, we are in the middle of a meeting here.”
Kyouraku blinked in confusion at his vice-captain, Captain Ichimaru, Vice-captains Kira, Hinamori, Abarai, Iba, and Matsumoto and most of the Eleventh, all sitting around at a meeting Yachiru was running in the middle of a back street in Seireitei.
