“Clothes, Avi.”

Green claws worked at the dull, solid breastplate. Aventurine barely lost step as she pulled it over her head and threw it aside. The youma girl then shifted into her human form. With the green out of her skin and the orange out of her hair, she could pass as a true-born human. Maybe not a female, Japanese human with a personality like that written one her face. At least her weaponry wasn’t visible unless one knew how to look. That was all Obsidian could really ask.

Black hair flew behind them as the two girls ran out of the Warp. “It’s just me and Aventurine,” Obsidian yelled behind her.

Green eyes locked with blue and Obsidian nodded. They were in a fairly anonymous, industrial part of town, but it was still worth ducking into a deeper ally before they started yelling.

“Jupiter Power! Makeup!”

“Ceres Power! Makeup!”

Sailor Jupiter tapped a green heel against the ground. “I’m going to break my leg.” She kicked the shoes off and took off with her friend.

Their Senshi magic naturally aligned with the Crystal Points; the girls used it to boost themselves to the rooftops and leap between them.

A spout of fire indicated Sailor Mars was already there.

“You go right, Shidi,” Sailor Jupiter called before leaping left. She reached down and her hand brushed her pink bow. She cursed and threw herself out of the way of a beam that made a storefront behind her cease to exist by a few centimeters.

By the time she hit the pavement, though, she had her balance back and reached this time for her crystal wand instead of for shuriken that weren’t there.

Sailor Ceres caught Mars’ eye and they formed up together to attract attention. Behind the spawn, Sailor Jupiter called, “Supreme Thunder!”

A moment later Ceres and Mars attacked from the other side.

“Fire Soul!”

“Pink Lady Fire!”

The attacks converged on the spawn and it was cancelled out like one of its own attacks.

Aventurine detransformed to her human form almost immediately and stumbled. Obsidian jumped forward to catch her, though she didn’t keep falling.

“Are you injured?” Nagare asked quickly.

“No.”

“I smell blood,” Obsidian accused.

“It’s just… It’s this stupid, weak human body!” Aventurine raged.

Obsidian looked down as she caught on. Aventurine’s feet were cut to shreds and were puddling blood. “Shift back.”

“But we’re still in Crystal Tokyo.”

“You can’t very well walk back to the Warp half-crippled. Change back to your youma form. Now.”

Aventurine gave her best friend a pitiful look, but was met with pure stubbornness. She sighed, but gave in without a fight for once. “It’s not easy being green.”
