“We’ve located the Dark Empire of Evilness’ most powerful weapon.”
“Oh, where is it?” asked General Luna.
“Coming straight at our secret rebel base!”
“Launch all Sailor Senshi fighters!”
“Yes ma’am.”

“Sailor Moon in the green and ready to go.”
“Sailor Mercury all systems clear.”
“Sailor Mars ready to go.”
“Sailor Jupiter engines ready.”
“Sailor Venus up and at ‘em.”
The other seven members of the squadron gave their affirmatives to go and they launched from the hanger into the heated dogfight in space.
“Sailor Moon, we’ve received reports from our spies there’s a small, unmarked exhaust port that leads to the main reactor from which you can destroy the station. You have to hit it dead on with a Happy Sunshine Moon Tiara torpedo.”
“Roger. Over.”
Usagi cast her sensors over the battle. Pluto and Saturn were shielding the rest of the squadron from surface guns on the superweapon, while Uranus and Neptune chased enemy fighters off them. Venus was chasing her wingmate, Mars, right into the thick of the fighting, where Tuxedo Squadron was. To her horror and grief, two of her pilots had already been vaped and Jupiter’s ship had taken so much damage she’d had to eject.
Her shieldmates dropped into the trench ahead of her, their targeting computers already focusing on the targeted exhaust port ahead.
Suddenly, red bolts hit Usagi’s wing out of nowhere.
“Moon!” cried Uranus over her comm, “The Shitennou are on your tail!”
“Copy. We’ll shake them.”
The fighters jinked and juked through tighter spaces, but only one of the fighters behind them took a bad maneuver and hit a wall.
“I’ll get them off us.”
“No! Naru!”
Naru traded rounds of quad lasers with them, but was hit in the wing too hard. Her ship fell back into one of the pursuing ships before careening both of them into a wall.
“Naru! Nooooooooooooooo!”
“I’ve got your back,” Ami said as she too turned her canons on the enemy ships. She shot one down, but her shields were flickering and her maneuverability was compromised.
“Get out of here, Ami. You’re no good to anyone disabled.”
“I’m sorry.”
Usagi was alone in the trench, one last ship at her back, target drawing close. She could practically feel that it was Kunzite, the Empire’s chief cloaked henchman, that was after her. His burning hatred seemed to radiate from his ship.
She dodged shots and upped the power to her aft shields and drew up her targeting computer.
“No,” came a ghostly voice.
“Huh?”
“Trust in the Force of Love and Friendship and Happy Bunnies and Duckies.”
“Queen Serenity?”
“Trust in it.”
Usagi blinked in confusion a few times, then set her chin with a new resolve and turned off her targeting computer. Kunzite closed in on her, but was suddenly sent spinning off into space by shots from an unknown fighter.
“Tuxedo Mask!”
“That’s right, odango atama. Go for it.”
“Right! Happy Sunshine Moon Tiara torpedoes away!”
The streaks of light disappeared into the exhaust port and a new star lit the sky.
