“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” That was true at least; he had no idea what these underworld people might want with him.
He finally saw his main captor when she moved into the light to kick him in the already bruised, possibly broken ribs. He had seen the lower classes before, but as simpering, weak creatures no even competent enough for servants. This one had the grace of a feline and the exoticness of a distant planet, because there was no way something like this had come from here. Then again, a mongrel female was the most valuable commodity in the rebels’ world, so maybe it made sense how she had come about, like a queen insect.
“Riki the Dark,” she growled. “You better be useful and I might let you live, or at least die less painfully, Blondie.” She said it like an insult, which maybe to her it was.
“What do you want?” Jadeite gasped over the pain.
“Hm? I dunno. Power and money for me and my friends, safety for my daughters and theirs’, a new lighter, my old one got broken capturing you…” She kicked him in the groin and the solar plexus and punched him in the head. “I told you. One of you kidnapped my brother, Riki, and I will tear this planet apart until I get him back.” She breathed close to Jadeite’s face, looming over his bound-to-a-chair form, her breath sharp with the smell of cigarettes. “My name’s Kyoko and that’s my promise, Blondie.”
