The mythical beast is broke ... again! At the moment there is no operation just a big plaster holding the broken elbow in place - will see on Tuesday if it just gets a new plaster or else an operation.

Just to let you all know ... I now have some white mohair to play with.

This is a plea to all my knitting friends - or friends who have knitting friends - do any of you have a couple of metres of white mohair in your stash which you can send to me? I want to try something out and it requires white mohair but I have failed miserably to find any round here.

The lovely thing about making your own handbag is that it can be spotted a floor away and you end up being offered a lift home ... getting back ten minutes before your hourly bus departs. Yeah for the chaos CQ bag.

Since the snow stopped the sun came out ... and now our 3-4 inches of snow has all but disappeared. I am so glad I took pictures earlier.

However, it does mean that the cycle ride into work will not be as bad as if the snow had stayed and the temperature dropped a lot ... then there would be ice to contend with.

I woke at about quarter to five. Opened one of my big windows a bit and then read for a couple of hours. I fell asleep again just before seven and didn't wake up until 09:20. In that time it snowed and we have a thick layer of white over everything ( Read more... )

I made my own guacamole at the weekend. It's OK but not how I like it however i did learn something ... if you put an avocado stone into your guacamole it doesn't go brown. And they are right! It's amazing.
