I now have Utah license plates and a Utah drivers license. ehwahh.

Vin had better not wield Galaxy Shirikans at the end of Book 3.

I can neither confirm nor deny the presence of Galazy Shirikans, if only because I don't know what they are. :D

However, I was quite satisfied with the ending of the Mistborn trilogy. I won't say it's exactly a happy ending, but it was immensely satisfying. I think you will approve.

Galaxy Shirikans are galaxies being thrown like shirikans. At ridiculously large mecha. It is very...lol. :D
(I'd link to a youtube vid of it, but it seems that no one has put it online. How dare they be so lax!)

I hope I like the end of Mistborn! My sister just finished and she didn't at all. :( Made her sad. She thinks I might be okay with it, though.

Actually, I hadn't noticed the similarities between Mistborn and Gurren Lagann--but maybe that's just because I was aaah!blinded by the sheer over-the-top GAR-ness of Gurren Lagann, and because I still need to read the actual published versions of Mistborn since I've only read drafts. And because killing off the mentor (whether it's Kamina, Kelsier, Dumbledore, Gandalf, etc.) is a common trope in the Campbellian hero's journey.

Seriously, Kamina was too GAR for his own good. And Viral is still my favorite character in the series. The illusion he sees toward the end of the series and his reaction is just mwuh.

I should probably go watch Lagann-hen. I've heard it's good.

Yay, beta reading for to-be-published works! XD I just watched Gurren Lagann a month ago, so it was fresh.
It's so weird for the mentor to be a young and fresh and, well, GAR-ful character! It hurts more when they die. :(

(I, like, totally wanted more of Viral. That vision...that's the stuff I'm talking about, right there.)

I really don't know what ship to ship! I drives me nuts, actually. A whole lot of them are sexy, but not really healthy build-a-life guys for Sookie.

It was Andre, Sophie Ann's devoted guy. He was young, intense, and just gave me an evily-Edward vibe, though maybe it was just me. And I really didn't like how Quinn killed him at the end of that book. Rubbed me all the wrong ways.

I stumbled upon this LJ post upon googling "Mistborn Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann," as, I was curious to see if anyone else mentioned the close similarities between the two. Glad to know it's not just me :P

By absolute coincidence, I am actually in the process of reading Mistborn and watching TTGL simultaneously. I finished The Well of Ascension last night, and I'm just watched episode 15 this morning. This is pretty awesome, and I wonder if Brandon knows about TTGL. I might send him a message on Facebook ;)

It's so startling when you watch/read them close together.

Sorry if I spoiled you to the end of TTGL. Not to spoil you on Mistborn ...Vin doesn't quite wield Galaxy Shirikans at the end, but it's close, and I bawled myself to sleep that night after finishing it. ;____;

But it's gooooood.

I do wonder what Brandon would think about TTGL. Probably depends on whether he enjoys it when he watches it. lah.
