A lot of the people didnt have a choice, didn't have a place to go or a way to get there. Hundreds of people were swept away in the floods, while their husands, wifes, and children looked on.
Rather than being the judgemental impassive quickie, maybe we should work on focusing on the point of the article.

:( So sad. I heard story about a husband that lost his wife because of Katrina..and I think that was one of the most depressing things I've ever heard.
