That really does sound crap. You can possibly remove the cooker and washing machine yourself or get a friend to do it, an electrician will charge a fair whack for that even though it's quite easy(generally, this specific case could be different-I'd be willing to come out and have a look if you and Sandy would like).
It sounds like, with the unannounced entry particularly, that certain laws may well have been broken; you might also want to check your tenancy agreement, there's usually a clause about "peaceful occupation" which this does NOT sound like.

Thanks for that - I'd really appreciate it. Shakespeare I can cope with, but electronics are definitely not my thing! Once Sandy and I are settled in our new place, I might just let the local MP know how tenants are treated by this company - vulnerable tenants at that - all the other residents in that area are infirm OAPs.

If you guys are available during the day tommorow, that'd be the best time for me-but other times would be possible too. I'd need to know where I'd be going though:>
I don't guarentee being able to do it, but if I can't I'll know that I can't, so won't...if you can undo that horrible phrasing to get to the meaning. I should at least be able to get some idea of how awkward it would be if I can't do it(but I should be able to if it's anything like the usual setup).
