Third-Person Sample:
They had left him. No, no, no; not they, but him. He had left, left him, and, and.... Albedo let out a short giggle, emotions rising up again; panic, hysteria, pain, moving to take him over. No, no, that wouldn't do. Not at all. Not for someone like him.
He was perfect. He was complete. He knew that now. Knew that the things that had set him so far apart from the others (from him) were the things that made him special. If everything was waveforms--matter, energy, power--then his was a complete one. A circle, repeating back upon itself endlessly. A spiral that stretched out to the heavens. His was a flawless existence. If only he could see him now....
"No, no," Albedo repeated out-loud, annoyed at the thought. Rubedo... here he laughed again, panic to hide the pain... abandoned him. Didn't care about him. But didn't Albedo already know that? That girl... no, Sakura--she encompassed his mind and heart, and Nigredo, the little brother, who took away the time that Rubedo should have been spending with him. It was so obvious, really! That he didn't care. That Albedo was nothing to him.
"No..." This time the sound was a little strained. Rubedo did care. He loved him. But if he loved him... if he.… He wouldn't have left! He wouldn't have....
But everything was fine now.
His eyes widened a bit to show the whites of his eyes. He had merged with something greater than himself, became more than what he was, and with this power, this knowledge, he could do anything! He could traverse the heavens and go on adventures like (they) he had always dreamed. He could... destroy anything that got in his way. Destroy anything that crossed him, abandoned him...
Noise from below caught his attention as a limping Nigredo moved across the scaffolding. He tilted his head, considering this.
...Anything that took away what was his.
It was easy, simple even, to loosely reach inside to that new power and imagine it slamming into his baby brother, breaking things, cracking things, hurting... Like Albedo was hurt.
The resulting wave did slam into Nigredo, sending him flying off the platform onto the one below. Albedo wasted no time, and followed, raising his arms out to float down to the favored child. His face held no expression other than an animal eying prey, and that, more than anything, showed that changes that had occurred in the emotional child. He said nothing, and Nigredo struggled to his feet. Oh, Albedo would so enjoy this.
This second his brother got his feet under him, Albedo lashed out with his new power again, slamming Nigredo into the wall. Something cracked loudly, and from the power, Albedo felt something give under the strain. He could only imagine what was going through his little brother's head. Nigredo would try to fight him. It was his mission, useless as it was. Poor Albedo, always so weak, went and got infected. His mouth split in a parody of a grin. If he only knew! He wasn't infected... he was evolved! He was never be weak again. He would never need... never need.... For a second, Albedo's face contorted, pain and anger twisting cruelly together. His teeth clenched down. No. He was fine. Better than fine.
He would never need anyone again.
His fist shot out this time, pounding into Nigredo's stomach. The younger boy dropped, saying something. Albedo didn't care. He didn't hear anything but the rush of blood pounding in his ears, and the Song... the glorious Song. He allowed it to overwhelm him, shutting down useless things like emotions and caring. Those things would just hinder what he was becoming. More hits rained upon the younger brother.
He cracked his neck to the side, leaving it tilted for a second as he looked over the boy in front of him. Nothing in him registered Nigredo as a person anymore; the heavily breathing thing with the pain-filled eyes was a toy, nothing else. And Albedo wanted to know just exactly how the toy would break. Slowly his head moved back to its regular position, a glow covering his body--not his normal purple glow, but a sickly pink-purple color that undulated around him that showed his link with U-DO. Albedo smiled, showing nothing of his previous self.
The entirety of the power that had coalesced around the white-haired entity (and he was, wasn't he? Self-aware and self-actualized) forced itself across the small distance to enter the dark-haired child, rip it apart from the inside, and wouldn't Albedo love to see that--dance in the chamber as gore rained down upon him, and wouldn't that make Rubedo sad, no one to spend his time with anymore, not after--
His power had stopped. Froze inches away from the kneeling black-haired boy, before winking out altogether. Albedo shook; rage, fear, panic--nothing was defined anymore. Nigredo raised his head, blood trickling from his mouth. Internal injury, Albedo noted somewhere in his mind. Ruptured organs. Punctured lungs. He licked his lips nervously. Torn arteries. The toy was speaking again. That meant Albedo needed to hurt it more.
His power lashed out quickly this time, pressed into the boy fiercely, making Nigredo cough up more blood. It was still alive. How admirable. Albedo slowly gathered energy around him again. But it wouldn't be alive for long.
His brother's head lolled to the side, eyes unfocused and half-closed. Even so, Albedo saw the tinge of green that glowed there, strengthened then to a brilliant shine. Something shot out. Albedo's power shut down, then disappeared as if it was never there, recessed deep inside where he couldn't find it. Breathing fast, Albedo laughed. Fine! Fine. He didn't need it. To finish him off, he could just continue beating him. Strangle the life from him. Tear him into tiny little pieces. And then....
Albedo was only able to take a step forward before his world exploded. In reality, Albedo thought, it was probably him who had exploded. Wasn’t that ironic! And what was the use of that, Nigredo?! He would have asked if he had ways to do so. He would just regenerate, and then where would---
Albedo's consciousness stumbled, the unique waveform that was him shuddering, before giving up its hold on consciousness and form, and starting to dissipate. Albedo had a moment to ask shocked over the link, {How?...}, to hear a heartbroken mental wave form the thought, {Executioner....}, with thoughts of Rubedo and Red Dragon to underline its meaning.
Divine, Albedo thought, losing sight of himself. The brother Rubedo picked is the one set to destroy him.
The place where U-DO had grasped a hold in Albedo's soul shuddered to life, pulsating; its energy creating a magnetic pole for the pieces of Albedo to form around. Soon, he was himself again; whole. But the damage was already done; he was still rapidly losing consciousness even though not a wound appeared on his body. His waveform would have to link back together for him to truly heal, and in that time... that corpse over there could attack him again, instead of dying like it should have already.
Albedo stumbled backwards. Nigredo would not get the pleasure of killing him. Another step, and he let himself fall off the edge of the platform… fall down deep beneath to hit the ground hard. Bones broke through skin, giving him a sense of peace. They would heal. Nigredo couldn't reach him all the way down here. So he could sleep....
…And when he woke? What then? How could he continue his life without Rubedo? Unaware, tears rolled down his face. He would be alone. Forever.
His last coherent memory was of gray haired girls grouping around him, touching him, murmuring concerning sounds. They all looked the same, he thought vaguely. They all... look... like... Sakura....
First-Person Sample:
[A list of people seen talking to Rubedo is listed here.]
He probably wouldn't write anything except maybe obsessive lists. They would contradict each other while agreeing--they would both be about people seen with Rubedo and the ways to hurt them. Because Rubedo abandoned him, so he should have no one either. And because he should be spending time with him instead of the others.
