With the tomatoes you might need to do a bigger pot. My potted ones get wilty because of the heat seeping through to the roots. I just added another bag of soil to their pots (the stems grow roots if buried) and added a bit of fertilizer to help. Miracle Grow has one that you pour directly in the soil and it apparently doesnt burn the roots, it has helped mine.
Wilt isn't really the problem, and the cherry tomatoes inside are kicking ass and taking names. They did catch some of whatever the peppers have, but not nearly as bad as the peppers have it. And they're already putting out visible new branches, following last night's culling.
I think the problem was that the pots on the top shelf, I can't really see very well without getting on a stool. I let a lot of leaves fall in the dirt, and those were probably a breeding ground for disease.
I don't know if my peppers are going to make it. :( If not, I guess I'll cry a bit, chalk it up to a lesson learned, and plant some ornamental peppers that I found seeds for at Target.
