[On the northern wall of the barracks, someone has been scrawling. From time to time - in between fetching fresh supplies - she can still be found there, painting away. Pair after pair of small stick figures has been matched up, each with a symbol between them: hearts, diamonds, spades or clubs

[Nepeta stares. That is one strange human language there. But when she sees what the human girl is doing, she looks at her journal. Oh look, she can reply that way!]

[She peers at Makoto. Makoto is not on the wall. This must be fixed! She dips her thumb in some ashy-looking liquid and adds a stick figure to the wall, peers back at Makoto, and then gives it Mako's hair.]
