Artbooks of 2008
One of my numerous defects of character is a proclivity for art books. I seem to acquire more every year. My financial discipline in a bookstore seems weakest when confronted with a new monograph or anthology of artists I admire.

An underlying motive for some creative people may be subconscious fear that the entire world is trying to to eliminate them... with indifference. Creativity, from that perspective, would be essentially an existential defense-mechanism.

I woke this morning to the news that possibly Caroline Kennedy will be appointed by NY Governor Paterson to replace Hillary Clinton as the next Senator from the State of New York.

A trip back to Portland starts tomorrow. But work goes on. Being away from Deep Six is debilitating to the productivity, but there is hope. Periscope in Portland is the largest comics-studio in the U.S. The picture below shows one corner of one of the rooms of their massive setup, and about two-thirds of their members.
