Laptop repair?

I would swear that sometime within the last month or two,someone on my flist mentioned having their computer repaired by someone local and fabulous. I can't remember who posted it, and I can't seem to find the post

If you can find someone to fix your backlight, pass that info along to me, will ya? I tell my customers that it's "time for a new laptop" when that happens.
Here's hoping you can find someone.

Huh. When I had that problem a few years ago I hit Mouser and Digikey, bought a new light bulb and put it in. The ballast still worked. Getting into the computer's case and finding a replacement bulb for sale took much longer than making the repair and putting it back together.

Then again the effort of doing that is worth about the same as an old laptop.
